Junior/Assistant Specialist, Department of Neurology, UCSF School of Medicine

 

The Department of Neurology seeks a highly motivated, dynamic individual with a Bachelor's/Master's degree for the position of Junior/Assistant Specialist. This individual will contribute to the development and implementation of ground-breaking clinical trials and clinical-translational research in the field of myelin repair/remyelination, medically induced brain repair, biomarker development and assessment of the visual system under the direct supervision of Dr. Ari Green, Chief of the Division of Neuroinflammation and Glial Biology and faculty in the Departments of Neurology and Ophthalmology. Interested applicants must have outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills, an active interest in participating work-class cutting-edge patient care, and the capacity to communicate effectively regarding scientific concepts to both patientts and clinicians. 

What you'll achieve:

  • Clinical coordination of patients in the ReCOVER study at UCSF and abroad
  • Performance of advanced visual assessments (OCT/A, VEP, VF, TSLO, etc) on MS EPIC and MAC patients 
  • Data management, analysis, and visualization
  • Administrative functions and maintenance of regulatory approval for specified projects 
  • Work closely with a team of post-docs and other specialists

Job Location:

Familiarity with clinical and-or laboratory research including regulatory approvals is preferred. Experience with clinical imaging, clinical electrophysiology, REDcap, and statistical modeling in R/SPSS are highly preferred. Skills with writing, creative thinking and careful attention to detail are expected. A minimum two-year commitment is required.
